Carbon Filter Cartridge 0.5 Micron
The Culligan D-40A carbon block cartridge fits standard 9-3/4 inch filter housings and reduces chlorine, lead, cysts, sediment and other contaminants from drinking water. It connects via a 3/8 inch fitting and suits the US-600A system.
Replaces Worn Cartridges in US-600A Systems
Swap the cartridge when flow drops or after six hundred gallons of use to restore taste and contaminant reduction. The upgrade is worth it if the current element has reached its service life or shows pressure loss.
Six Hundred Gallon Service Life
At a flow rate of 0.6 gpm the cartridge handles daily drinking and cooking needs for typical households. Capacity runs out once the rated volume is processed or if heavy sediment loads clog the 0.5 micron block prematurely.

Questions about this item
What are the exact cartridge dimensions and connection size so I can confirm it fits my housing?
The cartridge measures 9 3/4 inches overall height with a 2 1/4 inch outside diameter and 1 inch inside diameter, and uses a 3/8 inch connection.
How do I install the D-40A cartridge and which step is commonly missed?
Shut off water supply, relieve pressure, remove old cartridge, insert new cartridge with the carbon block facing the flow direction, reassemble housing, then flush at 0.6 gpm for several minutes to clear carbon fines.
When should I replace the filter and what indicates it has reached service life?
Replace after 600 gallons of use or when flow drops noticeably; the 0.5 micron carbon block will no longer reduce chlorine, lead, cysts or particulates effectively beyond that capacity.
