16x20 White Mat for 8x10 Photos

This acid-free matboard features a white core and a smooth white finish. It measures 16 by 20 inches overall and is designed to fit standard frames of that size. The bevel-cut opening measures 7.5 by 9.5 inches to securely hold an 8 by 10 inch photo or artwork.

Suits framers wanting a single acid-free mat

Buyers who need multiple mats in one pack should look elsewhere. Anyone requiring backing boards or clear protective bags must source those separately as they are not included. Shoppers wanting a coloured core or a different opening size will need another product.

Bevel-cut opening of 7.5 by 9.5 inches

This precise opening dimension is the critical specification that determines whether your 8 by 10 inch item will be properly covered and secured. The 16 by 20 inch outer dimension ensures compatibility with standard frames of that size. Acid-free construction with a white core helps protect the artwork over time.

Questions about this item

Does this 16x20 mat require a 16x20 frame to work?

Yes, the mat has an overall size of 16" x 20" and is designed to fit perfectly into a standard 16" x 20" frame.

Will the 7.5x9.5 opening cover parts of my 8x10 photo?

The bevel-cut opening measures 7.5" x 9.5", slightly smaller than the 8" x 10" photo, so the mat edges will overlap the image border by about a quarter inch on each side.

How can I verify the mat is cut correctly after placing my photo?

The photo should sit securely behind the 7.5" x 9.5" bevel opening with the white core visible along the angled edges, and the outer 16" x 20" dimensions should sit flush inside your frame.
