Compact green circuit board adapter with gold connectors and metal shielding for CFexpress Type B slot

CY

CY M.2 NVMe to CFexpress Type B Converter 2230 for Xbox Series X/S CH SN530

SKU CH-6GKQ-AV3KA

Converts an Xbox Series X/S CFexpress slot to accept a 2230 NVMe drive at PCIe 4.0 gen4x2 speeds, validated for the Western Digital CH SN530

  • PCIe 4.0 gen4x2 bandwidth enables CFexpress B full speed
  • Converts CFexpress slot to M.2 2230 NVMe storage
  • Designed exclusively for Western Digital CH SN530 drive
  • Gold-plated connectors and precision PCB ensure reliable signal transmission
  • Differential layout prevents CAF shorts and signal attenuation

Purpose-built Xbox storage adapter

This converter lets Xbox Series X or S owners add a Western Digital CH SN530 2230 NVMe drive through the console's CFexpress Type B slot. The board is designed solely for that drive model and will not work with other SSDs. It targets gamers who want more internal storage without opening the console case.

Build integration and slot usage

The adapter plugs directly into the CFexpress Type B expansion port, using a PCIe 4.0 gen4x2 link that matches the slot's full specification bandwidth. No extra cables, power connections or firmware steps are required; the drive sits inside the converter and the assembly inserts like the official expansion card. It frees the USB ports for other peripherals while keeping storage on the internal bus.

Included hardware and signal quality

The package supplies only the converter board; the SSD must be purchased separately. Gold-plated connectors and a precision PCB with differential-signal layout reduce parasitic capacitance and inductance, preventing CAF micro-shorts and preserving high-speed data integrity across the link.

Questions about this item

Does the PCIe 4.0 x2 link saturate before the Western Digital CH SN530 hits its own limits?

The converter passes the full CFexpress B specification speed over a PCIe 4.0 gen4x2 link, so the drive itself will reach its ceiling first.

How hot does the gold-plated PCB get during all-day gaming on an Xbox Series X/S?

The precision-crafted PCB uses high-frequency low-resistance materials and differential signal layout to minimise parasitic losses, keeping thermals low under sustained loads.

Which exact SSD must I already own for this converter to function in my Xbox?

Only the Western Digital CH SN530 in the M.2 2230 form factor is supported; no other drive will work with the Xbox expansion slot.
