Desktop gaming tower

The CyberpowerPC Gamer Xtreme VR is a tower desktop built around an Intel Core i7-8700 processor with six cores running from 3.2GHz up to 4.6GHz. It ships with 32GB of DDR4 memory at 2666MHz and a 1TB NVMe SSD. Graphics are handled by an AMD Radeon RX 580 card equipped with 8GB of GDDR5 memory. Windows 10 Home is pre-installed.

Who this suits

Gamers and content creators who want a ready-to-use system with strong multi-threaded CPU performance and a dedicated mid-range graphics card will find the configuration balanced. The 32GB memory capacity and fast NVMe storage support multitasking and quick load times. Buyers who need more than 64GB of memory, more than 1TB of internal storage, or a higher-tier GPU should look at other configurations.

The deciding specification

The AMD Radeon RX 580 with 8GB GDDR5 determines the gaming resolution and detail settings the system can sustain. It provides 1x HDMI and 3x DisplayPort outputs for multi-monitor setups. If your workflow or favourite titles demand more video memory or newer GPU architecture, this graphics card is the limiting factor.

Questions about this item

Should I pick the 32GB DDR4 2666MHz configuration or add more later?

The system ships with 32GB DDR4 2666MHz and the board supports up to 64GB, so you can run it as-is or add another 32GB kit when you need more capacity.

What does the i7-8700 3.2 to 4.6GHz range mean for actual gaming?

The six-core i7-8700 runs at 3.2GHz base and boosts to 4.6GHz on lighter threads, giving strong single-thread speed for game logic while the six cores handle background tasks and streaming.

How fast is the Wi-Fi 5 and Gigabit Ethernet in practice?

Wi-Fi 5 (802.11ac) and the Gigabit Ethernet port provide solid wireless and wired throughput for online play, downloads and streaming without bottlenecking the RX 580.
