D.A.P. Weldwood Contact Cement Gel 1-Quart
This neoprene contact cement uses a gel formula that will not drip, making it suitable for vertical and overhead surfaces. It provides easy spreading with excellent coverage and a long open assembly time. The tan adhesive dries in 15 minutes and meets all CPSC requirements. Manufactured in the United States.
Practical limits of gel contact cement
The gel consistency prevents runs on upright or ceiling applications but requires surfaces to be clean and properly prepared for adhesion. It is designed for bonding laminates, veneers, wood, and similar materials where a non-drip adhesive is needed. The product is not for sale on Catalina Island.
Check before ordering
Verify that your substrates are compatible with neoprene contact cement and that the 1-quart volume matches your project requirements. Ensure adequate ventilation is available during application and drying. Confirm that the 15-minute dry time fits your assembly workflow before purchasing.

Questions about this item
How does the 1-quart gel compare with the standard liquid formula for vertical jobs?
The gel formula stays put and will not drip, making it the better choice for vertical and overhead surfaces while still giving the same neoprene bond.
What does the 15-minute dry time mean once I spread it on the workbench?
After applying to both surfaces you have about 15 minutes before the cement sets, giving a long open time to position parts accurately.
Does the CPSC-compliant label limit the bond strength or temperature range I can use?
Meeting CPSC requirements only covers safety labelling; the premium neoprene cement still delivers full contact-bond strength for typical indoor and outdoor projects.
