Guitar Humidification System

The D'Addario PW-HPK-01 Humidipak Maintain Kit is an automatic two-way humidity control system designed for acoustic and electric guitars. It uses Boveda technology to maintain a constant 45%-50% relative humidity level inside the instrument case without manual adjustments or refilling.

Case Integration

The kit includes pouches and humidifier packs that fit directly inside a standard guitar case. The nylon pouches measure 4.3 cm x 11.9 cm x 17.8 cm and weigh 0.269 kilograms, adding minimal bulk while eliminating the guesswork and potential mess associated with traditional refillable humidifiers.

Protection Capacity

The system automatically dispenses or absorbs purified water vapor to protect against warping, cracks, and sharp fret ends caused by dry conditions. It handles seasonal changes and geographic variations without user intervention, though it cannot restore damage already caused by prolonged lack of humidification.

Questions about this item

How long do the Humidipak packs last before they need replacing under continuous use?

The packs automatically maintain 45%-50% relative humidity until they become rigid, at which point they are exhausted and must be replaced; lifespan varies with case seal and ambient conditions.

Does the Humidipak system make any noise or generate heat while regulating humidity inside the case all day?

No, the system is completely passive — it uses Boveda two-way humidity control technology with no fans, power source or moving parts, so it operates silently and without heat.

What case or accessory must I already own for the PW-HPK-01 Maintain Kit to work?

You need a guitar case or enclosure that can hold the three included pouches (4.3 cm x 11.9 cm x 17.8 cm total) so the packs can regulate the internal 45%-50% RH environment.
