Adds gigabit Ethernet to a desktop via a 32-bit PCI slot with auto-sensing 10/100/1000Mbps speeds and full-duplex support
The D-Link DGE-528T adds a copper Gigabit Ethernet port to a desktop computer through a standard 32-bit PCI slot. It operates at 10, 100 or 1000 Mbps with auto-sensing and supports 2000 Mbps full-duplex throughput. The card includes an 8K/64K FIFO buffer and PCI bus master operation at 33/66 MHz clock speeds to reduce host memory overhead.
This card upgrades older systems that are limited to Fast Ethernet on the PCI bus, delivering Gigabit speeds where the motherboard lacks an integrated port or a faster slot. The jump is worth it when transferring large files across a modern wired network or when a server connection demands full-duplex Gigabit performance. It will not benefit builds that only have PCI Express slots available.
The adapter supports jumbo frames up to 7 Kb, 802.1q VLAN tagging and 802.1p priority queues for managed network environments. ACPI 2.0 Wake-on-LAN and 802.3x flow control provide reliable power management and congestion handling. It runs out of headroom on platforms that require PCI Express bandwidth or on operating systems newer than those listed in the supported software range.

The card fits a standard 32-bit PCI slot running at 33 or 66 MHz and is PCI 2.3 compliant.
After seating the card, install the driver for your OS — Win98, 2000, ME, NT, XP, NetWare, Linux or MacOS — then enable ACPI 2.0 Wake-on-LAN in Device Manager if you need remote wake.
Add the Boot ROM only if you plan to network-boot the PC via PXE; otherwise the card works fully without it.
