Blade & handle materials

The Damascus Depot hunting knife has a 9.5 inch overall length and a 5 inch full tang blade forged from 1095 and 15N20 high and low carbon steel. The handle combines camel bone and bull horn scales fitted with five silver pins. A thick cow hide leather sheath with a belt loop is included.

Full tang construction advantage

Full tang blades are considered stronger and more durable than partial tang designs, making this knife suitable for heavy field use such as skinning and general camp tasks. The approximately 5 mm thick twisted pattern Damascus steel resists bending under load. The jump is worth it when a folding or rat tail tang knife has failed during hard use.
