Multi-surface neoprene adhesive

DAP Weldwood Original Contact Cement is a tan neoprene rubber adhesive that creates instant, high-strength bonds on interior and exterior surfaces. It works on wood, metal, plastic, fabric, laminates, veneers and panelling for home, office or workshop projects. The 16 oz container suits both small repairs and larger assembly jobs.

Fast-drying formula with open time

The adhesive spreads easily and dries tack-free quickly, providing a two hour open time for positioning parts before assembly. Once cured, the bond resists heat, water, weather, grease, oil and common household chemicals. The neoprene formulation remains flexible so joints stay strong under stress and movement.

Eliminates clamps and long waits

Because the cement bonds on contact with momentary pressure, it removes the need for clamps, temporary fasteners or extended set times. This speeds up tasks such as laminate countertop installation, cabinet work and general fabrication. Users should follow the label instructions for surface preparation and application.

Questions about this item

How do I apply this 16 oz contact cement and what is the common mistake?

Spread a thin, even coat on both surfaces, let it dry tack-free, then press together; the mistake is joining before the adhesive is fully dry to the touch.

What will need replacement or maintenance after the bond cures?

The cured neoprene bond resists heat, water, grease, oil and household chemicals, so no routine maintenance or replacement is required.

What limit appears first during sustained stress or movement?

The flexible neoprene formula keeps bonds strong under stress and movement, so the adhesive itself does not reach a failure limit in normal use.
