Mac-Ready Mechanical Keyboard

The Das Keyboard 4 Professional for Mac is a wired mechanical keyboard built specifically for macOS. It uses Blue mechanical switches with gold contacts rated for 60 million keystrokes. A two-port USB 3.0 hub adds 5Gb/s pass-through for peripherals. Dedicated media controls include an oversized volume knob and an instant sleep button.

Ideal for Mac Typists, Not Silent Offices

Writers, developers and power users who want tactile, clicky feedback on macOS will appreciate the Mac-specific key layout and no-driver setup. The loud click of Blue switches makes it unsuitable for shared or quiet workspaces. Users who prefer linear or silent switches should consider other options.

Fits Standard Desk Setups with USB Hub Convenience

The keyboard measures 18.00" x 6.80" x .80" and connects via a single USB 1.1, 2.0 or 3.0 port. Its integrated two-port USB 3.0 hub frees up ports on the Mac for mice, drives or charging cables. UV-coated keycaps resist fading during long-term use.

Questions about this item

Does my Mac need a specific USB port to use the two-port USB 3.0 SuperSpeed hub on this keyboard?

The keyboard works with any USB 1.1, 2.0 or 3.0 port. The built-in hub runs at up to 5 Gb/s when the host port is USB 3.0.

Will the dedicated media control and oversized volume knob function if I keep an older Mac keyboard connected at the same time?

Yes. The Das Keyboard 4 Professional for Mac operates independently, so its media keys and volume knob work alongside any other keyboard you leave plugged in.

How can I confirm the Blue mechanical switches are registering every keystroke after I set up the keyboard?

Open a text editor and type; each press should produce a character and a distinct click. The switches are rated for 60 million keystrokes, so consistent feedback indicates normal operation.
