Product identity

The Datalogic CAB-552 is a straight USB Type A cable measuring 2 m or 6.5 ft. It carries an IP67 rating for dust and water protection. The part is listed as new and was first published by the manufacturer on 28 October 2022.

Intended use and limits

This cable suits point-of-sale installations that need a fixed 2 m link between a Datalogic scanner and a host with a USB Type A port. It is not for buyers who require a different length, a coiled design, a right-angle connector or a higher IP rating than IP67.

Sustained behaviour

The IP67 sealing maintains its ingress protection during continuous use in wet or dusty environments. The straight 2 m layout avoids repeated flexing at a coil, so signal integrity stays stable over long shifts. No active components are present, so thermal throttling does not occur.

Questions about this item

What scanner connector does the CAB-552 need on the host side?

The cable terminates in a USB Type-A plug, so the host must provide a standard USB-A port.

Can I keep using my current scanner if it only has a proprietary connector?

This cable is built for Datalogic scanners that accept the CAB-552 interface; a different connector will not fit.

How can I verify the link is active after plugging it in?

The scanner LED should illuminate and a test barcode will beep and transmit data to the host application.
