Kit contents

The GD4220-BKK1 kit supplies a Gryphon I GD4220 cordless linear barcode scanner ready for point-of-sale use. It targets retail and logistics operators who need handheld scanning without a tethered cable.

Cordless operation

Removing the cable lets staff move freely around a counter or warehouse aisle while staying connected to the host system. The kit bundles the scanner with its charging cradle so the device stays powered during continuous shifts.

Linear scanning limits

A linear imager reads one-dimensional barcodes only, so it cannot capture QR codes, DataMatrix or other two-dimensional symbols. It also requires a clear line of sight to the label and performance drops on damaged or poorly printed codes.

Questions about this item

How often will the battery in the Gryphon I GD4220 need replacing under daily retail use?

The cordless scanner uses a rechargeable battery pack designed for full-shift operation; typical life is several hundred charge cycles before capacity drops noticeably.

What limits continuous scanning sessions on the GD4220 before a pause is required?

The linear imager and battery are rated for sustained reads across an entire shift; the first limit reached is usually the battery reaching its low-charge threshold.

How much heat or noise does the GD4220 produce when left on the charging cradle all day?

The scanner and cradle run silently with no moving parts; only a slight warmth is felt at the charging contacts after prolonged docking.
