Questions about this item

Should I choose the GFS4590 RS-232 model or the GFS4520 USB version?

Choose the GFS4590 if your host system uses a serial RS-232 port; choose the GFS4520 if you need a USB connection instead.

What does the IP54 rating mean for daily operation?

The scanner resists dust ingress and water splashes, so it survives humid kiosks, outdoor cabinets, or wash-down environments without extra sealing.

How does the RS-232 interface limit cable length in practice?

RS-232 reliably supports several metres of cabling, letting you place the module away from the host PC without signal boosters.
