1/16 in galvanized steel cable
This 1/16 inch diameter steel cable uses a 7x7 strand construction with an IWRC core. It is supplied as a 250 foot coil with a vinyl coating in a silver finish. The cable is rated for lifting applications and arrives unlubricated.
Working load limit and breaking strength
The working load limit is 96 lb and the minimum breaking strength is 480 lbf. The vinyl coating adds protection but does not change these rated capacities. Users must stay within the 96 lb limit for safe lifting or pulling operations.
Plain ends require termination
The cable ends are plain cut with no factory fittings, so clips, thimbles or swaged terminals must be added before use. The 3/32 inch overall diameter includes the vinyl jacket, which must be stripped cleanly at attachment points. Improper termination is the most common cause of failure.

Questions about this item
Should I choose the 1/16 in diameter or a thicker cable?
The 1/16 in diameter with 7x7 construction gives a 96 lb working load limit and 480 lbf breaking strength; select a larger diameter only if your load exceeds 96 lb.
What does the 96 lb working load limit mean when I rig this cable?
It means the maximum safe load in normal use is 96 lb; the cable will not break until 480 lbf, but you must stay at or below 96 lb for lifting.
Does the vinyl coating change the cable diameter or the fittings I need?
The bare steel is 1/16 in and the vinyl coating brings the overall diameter to 3/32 in, so size your thimbles, clips or sleeves for 3/32 in.
