Capacitor Mounting Bracket 1 3/4 in Pack 5

The Dayton 12N979 bracket secures round capacitors with a 1 3/4 inch diameter. It is intended for technicians and DIYers who service fan motors and similar equipment. The transparent finish lets you verify alignment during installation. Each pack contains five identical brackets.

Capacity and headroom

The bracket fits round capacitors exactly 1 3/4 inches wide and offers no adjustment for other sizes. It handles standard motor run capacitors within that dimension but cannot accommodate larger or irregular case shapes. One bracket mounts one capacitor, so a pack covers up to five units.

Transparent polycarbonate build

Moulded from transparent polycarbonate, the bracket resists cracking and lets light through for visual checks. Mounting tabs accept common screws or rivets used in motor housings. The lightweight design adds negligible mass to the assembly and the smooth edges reduce wire chafing during vibration.

Questions about this item

Will the 1 3/4 in bracket fit the round capacitors already in my Dayton fan?

Yes, the bracket is made for round capacitors with a 1 3/4 in diameter, so it matches the existing mounting holes on compatible Dayton motors.

How can I confirm the bracket holds the capacitor securely after installation?

After mounting, the capacitor should sit firmly in the bracket with no wobble and the fan should start and run without vibration or unusual noise.

Does the pack of five include any screws or mounting hardware?

The package contains five transparent brackets only; screws or other fasteners must be purchased separately.
