Protects capacitor terminals with a transparent oval cover for 1 1/2 in width, supplied in a pack of five
The Dayton 12N984 protects capacitor terminals on fan motors. It fits oval capacitors measuring 1 1/2 inches wide and has two lead holes for wiring. The transparent cover lets you inspect connections without removal. Electricians and HVAC technicians use it to prevent accidental contact.
This accessory adds no heat, noise or electrical load to the circuit. It simply shields live terminals from dust and touch. Normal fan operation is unchanged because the cover is passive and non-conductive. No power supply or cooling consideration applies.
Each package supplies five identical covers for multi-unit jobs or spares. The quantity reduces repeat orders when servicing several motors. Transparent material speeds visual checks during maintenance. No software or extra hardware is included.

Slide the oval transparent cover over the capacitor terminals, then press each of the two lead holes firmly onto the connector pins until they snap into place; the step often missed is fully seating both holes so the cover locks securely.
Inspect each cover periodically for cracking or brittleness caused by heat and vibration; replace any cover that shows discoloration or loose fit to maintain terminal protection.
The transparent material softens and loses grip on the lead holes before the capacitor itself fails, so the cover must be replaced once it no longer holds the connector pins tightly.
