Wire Rope Oval Sleeves

These Dayton aluminum oval sleeves are designed for swaging 1/16 inch wire rope in lifting applications. Each sleeve measures 3/16 inch in overall length with a 3/8 inch outside diameter. The pack contains 25 plain-finish pieces for professional rigging work.

Hand Tool Operation

As manual hand tools, these sleeves require no power supply and generate no noise or heat during installation. The swaging process relies on compression force applied by the user with appropriate tooling. There are no thermal or acoustic characteristics to consider.

Aluminum Alloy Construction

The aluminum alloy material provides corrosion resistance for outdoor or marine environments. Oval sleeve geometry distributes load evenly across the rope diameter during lifting. Pack quantity of 25 supports multiple termination points on a single project.

Questions about this item

How do I install the 1/16 in aluminum oval sleeve on the wire rope?

Slide the sleeve onto the rope, form the required loop, then compress the sleeve with a swaging tool matched to the 1/16 in size; the common mistake is using a tool for a different diameter.

What maintenance or replacement will the aluminum swage sleeve need later?

Inspect the sleeve regularly for cracks, corrosion or deformation; replace it if any damage is found or after a severe overload event.

What limit appears first when the sleeve is used continuously under load?

The aluminum alloy will yield or fatigue before the wire rope reaches its breaking strength, so the sleeve's material limit governs sustained use.
