Neoprene timing belt with 165 teeth, 14 mm pitch and 55 mm width for general industrial power transmission
The Dayton 2310-14M-55 is a curvilinear timing belt designed for general industrial applications. It features a neoprene construction with a nylon tooth coating and fiberglass reinforcing cords for durability. The closed-loop design has 165 teeth on one side and a 14 mm pitch for precise synchronous drive.
This belt operates reliably between -22 Degrees F and 194 Degrees F, covering most factory and plant environments. The neoprene body and fiberglass cords maintain dimensional stability under load without excessive stretch. Black colour helps resist UV degradation in lit areas.
Use this 55 mm top-width belt to replace a stretched or cracked HTD series belt on the same pulley profile. The jump is worth it when tooth shear or backlash degrades timing accuracy on 2310 mm pitch-length drives. It does not suit drives requiring double-sided tooth engagement or a different pitch.

Fit the 165-tooth belt over the matching 14 mm pitch pulleys, ensuring the 55 mm width seats fully in the grooves, then tension to the drive specification; the step often missed is verifying tooth engagement on both pulleys before final tensioning.
Inspect the neoprene body and nylon tooth coating for cracking, glazing or cord exposure at each scheduled shutdown; replace the closed-loop belt immediately if the fiberglass reinforcement becomes visible or if tooth shear appears.
The 194 °F maximum operating temperature is typically the first limit reached; sustained running above this degrades the neoprene and nylon coating, accelerating tooth wear and cord fatigue.
