Square Fire Damper 23.75 In

The Dayton 2TGC7 is a square gravity fire damper built for HVAC fire-protection systems. Its galvanised-steel frame and single-panel design suit commercial and industrial ductwork where a 23.75-inch square opening is required. The unit carries a free area of 3.1 sq ft for airflow management.

Fits square ductwork and fire-rated barriers

The damper mounts in a square rough opening measuring 23.75 inches by 23.75 inches with a frame depth of 3.75 inches. Its 22-gauge galvanised steel frame integrates into fire-rated walls or floors, allowing the gravity-operated panel to close automatically when exposed to heat. No external power or actuator is needed for the closure function.

Includes factory-assembled frame and panel

The single-panel assembly arrives ready to install, reducing on-site labour and eliminating the need for field fabrication of the damper blades. The galvanised finish resists corrosion in typical indoor mechanical rooms, helping maintain long-term reliability of the fire barrier without additional coating steps.

Questions about this item

What is the maximum air velocity this square fire damper can handle under sustained use?

The manufacturer lists no maximum air velocity for this model, so the limit is not defined by the supplier.

How much heat does the galvanized-steel frame generate during continuous operation?

The damper is a passive gravity device with no motor or electrical components, so it produces no heat of its own.

What ductwork must already be in place for this 23.75-inch square damper to install?

A square duct with a 23 3/4-inch by 23 3/4-inch rough opening and a 3 3/4-inch frame depth is required.
