Wire Rope Oval Sleeve

This copper oval sleeve fits 1/4 inch diameter wire rope and is sold in a pack of 25. The sleeve measures 1/2 inch in overall length with a 1 1/8 inch outside diameter. It uses a swage fitting type and has a zinc-plated finish. The product is rated for lifting applications.

Sustained Load Behaviour

The sleeve is designed for lifting capability and maintains integrity under continuous tension. Load efficiency rating is not applicable according to the specifications. Copper construction provides consistent compression performance during extended use. The oval sleeve shape distributes force evenly across the wire rope connection.

Installation and Common Issues

Installation requires a swaging tool to compress the sleeve onto the wire rope properly. The package includes 25 sleeves with no compressions pre-applied. Common issues include using incorrect die sizes for the 1/4 inch rope diameter or insufficient compression force. Proper swaging technique is essential for the rated lifting capability.
