Dayton 32V142 Drum Mixer Application

The Dayton 32V142 laboratory drum mixer mounts on the side of small tanks up to 100 gal capacity. A 1/20 hp single-phase motor drives a 316 stainless steel shaft with three fixed blades at 1,700 rpm minimum speed. The clamp mounting and right-hand rotation suit medium viscosity fluids up to 1,000 cps.

Upgrade From Manual Stirring

This unit replaces hand agitation for repeatable blending in 100 gal vessels. The direct-drive design removes belt maintenance while the 23 degree machine pitch moves medium fluids consistently. The step up is worth it when batch uniformity matters more than occasional mixing.

Sustained Operation Behaviour

Continuous 115V AC power keeps the 30 in shaft turning at steady speed without belt slip. The 3 in propeller diameter and fixed blade geometry maintain torque delivery through the viscosity range. Prop 65 notices apply to materials in the assembly.

Questions about this item

What shaft length and clamp mounting does the 32V142 mixer need to fit a 100 gal tank?

The mixer has a 30 in shaft and a side clamp mount designed for small tanks up to 100 gal capacity.

How is the direct-drive motor connected for 115V AC single-phase operation?

Wire the 1/20 hp motor directly to a 115V AC single-phase supply; the direct-drive design requires no belts or gearboxes.

When should the three-blade 316 SS propeller be inspected or replaced?

Inspect the fixed 3 in diameter blades for wear or corrosion after extended use with medium-viscosity fluids up to 1,000 cps.
