Pump for 12 V DC utility drainage
The Dayton 3ACA5 is a self-priming utility pump with a plastic housing and Buna-N impeller. It runs on 12 V DC at 7.5 amps and delivers a maximum flow of 3.4 gpm at 10 ft of head. Suction lift reaches 7.5 ft and total head capacity is 40 ft. Discharge and intake connections are 3/4 in hose and MGHT types respectively.
Suits portable low-pressure transfer.
This pump fits mobile or off-grid jobs where a 12 V supply is available and head stays below 40 ft. It handles fluids up to 3,000 SUS viscosity and self-primes for quick start-up. Buyers needing more than 17.3 psi operating pressure or AC-powered operation should look elsewhere. The 1 ft cord also limits placement without an extension.
Handles up to 40 ft head and 3.4 gpm flow
At 10 ft of head the pump moves 3.4 gpm, and it can push water to a maximum of 40 ft total head. Self-priming works within the 7.5 ft suction lift limit. Performance drops as head approaches the 40 ft maximum and pressure nears 17.3 psi. Viscous fluids near the 3,000 SUS ceiling will further reduce flow and head capability.

Questions about this item
What power supply must I already have to run this 12 V DC pump?
You need a 12 V DC source capable of delivering at least 7.5 amps.
Will the 3/4 inch hose and MGHT intake connections fit the fittings I already use?
Yes — the discharge is a 3/4 in hose barb and the intake is a 3/4 in MGHT thread, both common garden-hose sizes.
How can I verify the pump is performing correctly after installation?
At 10 ft of head you should see up to 3.4 gpm flow; the pump self-primes with a maximum suction lift of 7.5 ft and can develop 40 ft total head at 17.3 psi.
