Dayton 3HGL5 Round Fire/Smoke Damper

The Dayton 3HGL5 is a round fire and smoke damper built from galvanized steel for eight-inch nominal ductwork. It carries a 350-degree Fahrenheit temperature rating and operates on 120-volt AC power for dynamic closure in HVAC systems.

Suited for commercial fire and smoke control

This damper suits contractors installing fire-rated barriers in round duct runs where a single-blade, Class II leakage assembly is specified. Projects that require rectangular housings, higher pressure classes, or a different voltage supply will need alternative equipment.

350°F temperature rating decides fit

The 350-degree Fahrenheit nameplate temperature is the critical specification that determines whether this damper meets the fire-protection engineering schedule for a given compartment.

Questions about this item

How do I verify the 350°F fire rating is functioning after installation?

Confirm the fusible link releases at 350°F and the single galvanized steel blade closes fully against the 20-gauge frame within the 4 in wg pressure limit.

What components are included and what must be purchased separately?

The damper ships as a complete 7.9 in diameter round unit with 120V AC actuator; mounting hardware, duct connectors and control wiring are not included.

Which capacity suits a system needing 3000 fpm maximum velocity?

The 8 in nominal duct size rated for 3000 fpm and 4 in wg static pressure matches that requirement; no other size or voltage variants are offered.
