12-inch Square Motorized Damper

The Dayton 5NKK1 is a single-panel motorized control damper designed for square ductwork with a 12-inch nominal diameter. It operates on a 100-240V AC supply and uses a power-open, spring-return mechanism for airflow regulation.

Galvanized Steel Frame and Blade Construction

The damper features a 14-gauge frame and galvanized steel blades built to withstand a maximum air pressure of 4 in wg and velocities up to 3500 fpm. Its flanged frame with a 12.8-inch height and width and 14.5-inch length fits a 12 by 12-inch rough opening for secure square duct mounting.

Verify Duct Shape and Voltage Supply

Confirm that your ductwork is square with a 12-inch rough opening to match the damper dimensions. Ensure the control circuit can supply 100-240V AC for the motorized actuator and that the system pressure and velocity remain within the 4 in wg and 3500 fpm limits.

Questions about this item

What voltage range does the 100/240V AC motor accept?

The nameplate rating is 100/240V AC; it operates across that full range without a separate transformer.

What rough opening does the 12 in square damper need?

The frame fits a 12 in by 12 in square rough opening with an overall height and width of 11 3/4 in.

How is the spring-return actuator wired for power-open operation?

Apply 100/240V AC to the actuator terminals to drive the blade open; removing power lets the internal spring close the damper.
