Dayton 5PV57 Vertical Hydronic Heater

The Dayton 5PV57 is a new suspended vertical hydronic unit heater designed for wall or ceiling mounting. It delivers 2620 cfm of airflow using a 19 3/4 in fan powered by a 1-phase motor drawing 2.3 A at 60 Hz. The closed-base unit measures 14 1/8 in high by 29 1/2 in wide and deep.

Suits Steam or Water Systems Only

This heater suits facilities with existing steam or hot-water infrastructure needing vertical downflow heat. It is not for buyers lacking a boiler or piping network, nor for spaces requiring horizontal air discharge or electric resistance heating. Installers without threaded 2 in NPT connections should look elsewhere.

173,000 BtuH at 2 PSI Steam

The decisive specification is the rated output of 173,000 BtuH when supplied with 2 PSI steam, dropping to 118,600 BtuH with 200 F water at 12.22 gpm flow. Match your system pressure and temperature to these ratings to confirm the heater meets the load.

Questions about this item

What plumbing connections does the 5PV57 need for its steam or water supply?

The unit has a 2-inch threaded male NPT connection for the supply line and a matching return line for steam or hot water.

Will the 2.3 A motor run on the same 60 Hz single-phase circuit as my older unit heater?

Yes, the fan draws 2.3 A at 60 Hz single-phase, so it can share a circuit with other 60 Hz single-phase heaters.

How do I verify the 2,620 cfm airflow is reaching the space after installation?

Measure the air velocity at the 19 3/4-inch fan outlet and confirm the temperature rise matches the 173,000 BtuH steam or 118,600 BtuH water rating.
