General-Purpose Capacitor-Start Motor
This Dayton capacitor-start motor delivers 1 hp for single-phase general-purpose applications. It operates at a nameplate speed of 450 RPM and runs on 115/208-230V AC at 60 Hz. The rigid-base frame 56 design suits continuous-duty industrial tasks.
Dual-Voltage Frame 56 Mounting
The motor accepts 115V or 208-230V AC supply, drawing 13.6 amps at the lower voltage and 6.9-6.8 amps at the higher voltages. A 56 frame rigid base allows all-angle mounting without extra adapters. Clockwise or counter-clockwise rotation is configurable on installation.
Sustained Operation at 40 °C Ambient
Class B insulation and a totally enclosed fan-cooled enclosure support continuous duty in ambients up to 40 °C. The service factor is 1.0, so the motor runs at nameplate load without overload margin. No internal thermal protection is fitted, so external overload devices are required for branch-circuit safety.

Questions about this item
What is the maximum ambient temperature the Dayton 5UKF7 motor can handle before thermal limits become a concern?
The motor is rated for a maximum ambient temperature of 40 degrees Celsius during continuous operation.
How much current does the motor draw at full load on 230 V, and what does that imply for circuit sizing?
At 230 V the full-load current is 6.8 amps, so the branch circuit and protection should be sized accordingly.
What voltage supply and frame size must the installation already provide for this motor to mount and run?
The motor requires a 115/208-230 V AC single-phase supply and fits a standard 56 frame rigid base.
