Dayton 5WRT6 Slip Hook G80 Swivel

This Dayton slip hook is a Grade 80 steel lifting component rated for a 12000 lb working load limit. It is designed for rigging professionals and industrial users who need a secure swivel connection for overhead lifting tasks.

Swivel attachment with 1/2 in material thickness

The swivel attachment allows the hook to rotate freely under load, reducing twist in the chain or sling. A 1/2 in material thickness and a hook opening width of 2 1/16 in provide the structural profile for engaging compatible Grade 80 chain hardware.

Verify Grade 80 chain compatibility and hook opening

Confirm that your existing chain is rated for Grade 80 to match the hook's working load limit. Check that the 2 1/16 in hook opening width and 1 7/8 in eye inside diameter fit your specific rigging assembly before ordering.

Questions about this item

How often should the Grade 80 swivel hook be inspected for wear or deformation?

Inspect the hook before every lift; remove it from service if the throat opening exceeds 10 % or if any crack, bend or gouge is visible.

What is the first limit reached when the 12000 lb hook is used continuously near its working load limit?

The working load limit of 12 000 lb is the primary limit; exceeding it risks permanent deformation of the Grade 80 steel.

Does the swivel mechanism generate noticeable heat or noise during all-day rigging?

The swivel operates without powered components, so it produces no measurable heat or audible noise under normal use.
