Thermal overload relay protects motors at 55–70 A with 1NO/1NC auxiliary contacts and auto or manual reset
This Dayton 6ECA1 thermal overload relay protects three-phase motor circuits by monitoring current between 55 A and 70 A. It mounts directly onto a compatible contactor and meets IEC 60947-4-1, CSA and UL listed standards. The unit provides both auto and manual reset options for operational flexibility. A transparent housing allows visual inspection of the internal mechanism.
Electricians and panel builders wiring IEC contactors will find the direct-mount design and 1NO/1NC auxiliary contacts convenient for control circuits. The fixed Trip Class 10 suits standard motor-starting profiles. Installations requiring a specific NEMA size, a different trip class, or a current range outside 55-70 A must select another device. The relay is restricted only by its defined electrical and mechanical limits.
The adjustable dial sets the exact trip point anywhere between the 55 A minimum and 70 A maximum, so the motor full-load current must fall inside this window. If the load runs below 55 A or above 70 A the relay cannot protect it correctly. No other specification in the data overrides this selection criterion.

The relay trips at the set current between 55 A and 70 A and shows Trip Class 10 response; the 1NO/1NC auxiliary contacts change state on trip, giving a clear signal that protection is active.
The package contains the overload relay body only; a compatible IEC contactor for direct mounting, control wiring and branch-circuit protection are not included and must be purchased separately.
This single version covers 55 A minimum to 70 A maximum; select it when the motor full-load current falls inside that window and the starter uses IEC mounting.
