Dayton 6K828 Motor Specifications

This Dayton general purpose motor delivers 1-1/2 horsepower at 1725 rpm in a 145T frame. It operates on single-phase power with capacitor-start/run design for reliable starting torque. The rigid base mounting suits fixed industrial or commercial installations.

Electrical Requirements and Enclosure

The motor runs on 115/208-230V AC at 60 Hz with full load amps of 14.4 at 115V and 7.2 at 208-230V. A 1.15 service factor provides a margin for occasional overloads. The totally enclosed fan cooled enclosure protects windings in dirty or damp environments.

Suitable Applications and Limitations

This unit fits builders needing a continuous-duty, single-speed motor for pumps, fans or conveyors in ambient temperatures up to 40°C. Buyers requiring thermal protection, multi-speed operation or inverter-rated insulation should evaluate other options.

Questions about this item

Will the 1.15 service factor handle continuous 1-1/2 hp loading without overheating?

The motor is rated for continuous duty at a maximum ambient temperature of 40 degrees C with Class B insulation and a 1.15 service factor.

How much noise and heat does the totally enclosed fan-cooled design produce during all-day operation?

The TEFC enclosure uses an external fan for cooling; the nameplate shows 14.4 A at 115 V or 7.2 A at 230 V, indicating typical heat output for this frame size.

Does the 145T rigid base and 115/208-230 V wiring match my existing mounting and supply?

The motor has a 145T rigid base, CW/CCW rotation, and dual-voltage connections for 115 V or 208-230 V single-phase supply.
