Motor Overview

This Dayton 6K965 belt-drive motor is a single-phase capacitor-start unit rated at 1/2 HP and 1725 rpm. It operates on 115/230 V AC and draws 8.2 or 4.1 A at full load. The open dripproof enclosure and cradle-base mounting suit continuous-duty industrial ventilation or fan applications.

Voltage Compatibility

The dual-voltage design accepts either 115 V or 230 V AC at 60 Hz, drawing 8.2 A on the low-voltage tap and 4.1 A on the high-voltage tap. Select the correct supply before wiring to match the available circuit and avoid overload.

Power and Thermal Headroom

A 1.25 service factor provides 25 % overload capacity for short periods while the Class B insulation and auto thermal protection guard against sustained overheating. Continuous duty is rated up to 104 °F ambient, beyond which the motor may trip or degrade.
