Dayton 20/40 PSI Pressure Switch
The Dayton pressure switch controls water-pump operation with a factory-set 20/40 psi on/off range. It uses a DPST contact form and a single 1/4 in FNPT port for direct plumbing connection. The unit is CSA certified and UL listed for residential or light-commercial well systems.
Manual Auto/Off Lever Changes Daily Use
A manual Auto/Off lever lets the user disable the pump without cutting power at the breaker. This simplifies seasonal shutdown, leak testing or filter changes because the switch stays wired while the pump remains off. The lever does not alter the factory pressure settings or the differential range.
Standard Action Limits Adjustment Flexibility
The switch operates on a fixed standard action with a 15 to 50 psi differential and an overall 10 to 100 psi range. Motor ratings are 1-1/2 hp at 120 V and 2 hp at 240 V single phase. NEMA 1 rating and a -22 to 250 °F temperature range restrict use to indoor, non-hazardous environments.

Questions about this item
Will the 1/4 in FNPT port or the internal diaphragm need periodic replacement?
The switch uses a standard 1/4 in FNPT port and a DPST contact set; no user-serviceable diaphragm is referenced, so only the port seal may need attention if it leaks.
What pressure limit stops the pump first during continuous cycling?
The factory on/off setting is 20/40 psi with a maximum range of 100 psi, so the 40 psi cut-out is the first limit reached under sustained operation.
How much heat does the switch generate when the pump runs all day?
The switch is rated for -22 to 250 °F ambient temperature and carries up to 2 hp at 240 V; it adds negligible heat because it only makes and breaks the motor circuit.
