The Dayton rectangular fire damper fits 10-inch by 6-inch nominal ductwork and installs vertically or horizontally. It is intended for low-pressure HVAC systems that require a dynamic barrier rated for one and a half hours of fire exposure.

Capacity and headroom

The damper provides a free area of 0.219 square feet and uses a 165-degree fusible link to close automatically during a fire. Its 22-gauge galvanised steel construction meets UL 555, NFPA 80, 90A, 101, IBC, CSFM and NYC MEA standards, but the fire resistance rating is less than three hours.

Fusible link temperature

The 165-degree Fahrenheit fusible link determines when the damper activates, making it suitable only for environments where that trip point matches the design requirements. Systems needing a higher or lower activation temperature will require a different link.
