This Dayton square fire damper fits 14-inch nominal duct dimensions and carries a 1-1/2 hour fire rating under UL 555. It is intended for horizontal mounting in low-pressure HVAC installations where static operation meets code requirements. The galvanized steel construction provides the listed free area of 0.925 sq. ft. for airflow.

Static Mounting With Retaining Angle

Installation follows a static horizontal orientation using the recommended 2TGH4 retaining angle, which is not included with the damper. The fusible link releases at 165 degrees Fahrenheit to close the blades automatically during a fire event. Clearance for the 3-11/16 inch damper depth must be verified inside the duct sleeve before mounting.

Airflow Capacity and Fire Rating Limits

The 13-3/4 inch square opening delivers the rated free area for typical low-pressure supply or return runs. The assembly is rated for fire resistance of less than three hours and meets NFPA 80, 90A, 101, IBC, CSFM and NYC MEA standards.
