This DBTLAP CMOS battery is a direct replacement for the RTC BIOS cell on Toshiba Satellite A500 and A505 series laptops. It fits models including A500-ST5602, A500-ST5605, A500-ST5606, A500-ST5607, A500-ST5608, A500-ST6621, A500-ST6644 and A505-S6004. The lithium cell restores the real-time clock and preserves BIOS settings when the main power is removed. Each unit is tested before shipping.

Replaces a depleted or leaking original cell

The battery replaces the factory-fitted CMOS cell when it no longer holds charge, which shows as lost time, date or BIOS configuration after shutdown. It is worth fitting when the laptop fails to retain settings or reports a CMOS checksum error at boot. The part is not a main laptop battery and will not extend runtime or power the system independently.

Maintains BIOS data for the motherboard lifespan

The cell provides the low current needed to keep the RTC and CMOS memory alive for years of typical use. It comfortably handles the standby power draw of the supported Satellite motherboards. It runs out when the lithium chemistry is exhausted, at which point the symptoms of lost time and settings return and another replacement is required. Not suitable for builders needing a primary power pack or a higher-capacity coin cell.
