Direct Replacement Cooling Fan

This CPU cooling fan is built as a direct replacement for Lenovo IdeaPad Y400 and Y500 laptops. It suits owners whose original cooler has failed or become noisy. The part is supplied new and each unit is tested before dispatch. Buyers who need a different form factor or a universal external pad should look elsewhere.

Single-Source Cooling Constraint

The fan mounts inside the chassis and draws power from the motherboard header, so cooling capacity is limited to the original thermal design. It cannot exceed the airflow the heatsink and vent layout were engineered for. Dust buildup in the fin stack will reduce effectiveness over time. No external control or monitoring interface is provided.

Straightforward Swap With Fit Verification

Installation follows the standard disassembly procedure for the Y400 and Y500 series: remove the bottom case, disconnect the old fan, and fit the new one. The supplier notes that manufacturers may vary between Forcecon, ADDA, Sunon, Kipo or others, so connector orientation and screw hole alignment should be checked against the original part before fitting. A mismatched connector is the most common cause of a non-spinning fan after reassembly.
