Replacement CPU Cooling Fan for ThinkPad 13

This new cooling fan is designed specifically for the Lenovo ThinkPad 13 Chromebook using part number EG50050S1-C960-S9A. It serves as a direct replacement for a worn or failed original cooler. Buyers who need a universal laptop cooling pad with USB power will not find that function here.

Thermal Management and Power Characteristics

The fan draws power from the laptop's internal header to actively dissipate heat from the processor during normal operation. Each unit is tested by the supplier before shipping to verify it spins correctly. No acoustic or power-draw specifications are provided in the source data.

Bundled Components and Compatibility Guidance

The package includes only the single fan unit without additional screws, thermal paste or mounting brackets. The supplier advises checking product photos against the original part and confirming the exact model number before ordering to ensure 100 per cent compatibility.

Questions about this item

How do I install the EG50050S1-C960-S9A fan in my ThinkPad 13 Chromebook and what step is often missed?

Remove the bottom case, disconnect the old fan cable, then fit the new fan; the step often missed is re-routing the cable exactly as the original to avoid pinching it when reassembling.

What maintenance or replacement will this CPU cooling fan need later?

The fan bearings may wear after extended use; plan to replace the unit if noise increases or airflow drops, and clean dust from the heatsink fins during any service.

What limit appears first on the EG50050S1-C960-S9A under sustained load?

Thermal throttling of the processor occurs once the single fan can no longer dissipate heat fast enough, typically during prolonged high-CPU tasks.
