Compatible Dell PowerEdge Models

This heatsink fits Dell PowerEdge R730 and R730xd servers. It is a screw-down CPU cooler designed as a direct replacement for the original thermal module. Buyers should verify the part number 0YY2R8 against their existing hardware before ordering.

Thermals Noise and Power Draw

The unit includes one fan tested by the supplier before shipment. Normal operation keeps the processor within thermal limits using the standard server airflow path. No acoustic or power-consumption figures are provided by the manufacturer.

Behaviour Under Sustained Load

The screw-down mounting maintains consistent contact pressure during extended workloads. Server-grade construction supports continuous duty in rack environments. The cooler is not intended for desktop or workstation platforms outside the listed PowerEdge models.

Questions about this item

How do I install the screw-down heatsink on my Dell PowerEdge R730 without misaligning the mounting holes?

Align the heatsink with the CPU socket mounting holes on the R730 motherboard, then tighten the screws in a cross pattern to ensure even pressure and proper contact.

What maintenance will the included fan need over time?

The fan should be cleaned periodically with compressed air to remove dust buildup that can reduce airflow and cooling efficiency.

What thermal limit appears first when the Dell PowerEdge R730 runs sustained heavy workloads?

The CPU temperature limit of 100°C is typically reached first, triggering throttling if the heatsink cannot dissipate heat quickly enough.
