Compatible Acer Aspire 5 Models

This replacement CPU cooling fan fits Acer Aspire 5 laptops with model numbers 514, 515 and 517. It is intended for owners of the A517-58M, A515-58M and A514-56M variants who need to replace a worn or noisy original fan. Buyers with other Aspire series or different chassis sizes cannot use this part.

Single Fan Unit in Package

The box contains only the cooling fan itself; no mounting screws, thermal pads or control cables are supplied. You must reuse the original fixings and thermal interface material from the laptop. The lack of extra hardware means you should verify the existing hardware is intact before starting the repair.

Direct Swap Installation

Installation is a direct swap once the laptop base is removed and the motherboard is accessible. Each unit is tested before shipping, but the most common issue is ordering the wrong variant for a similar-looking model. Compare the part visually with the product photos and confirm the exact model number before fitting.

Questions about this item

Will the fan bearings need lubrication or replacement after continuous use?

The fan is a sealed unit tested before shipping; no lubrication points are accessible and the bearing is not user-serviceable, so replacement means swapping the whole fan.

What thermal limit stops the fan from cooling the CPU further during long sessions?

The fan spins at a fixed speed determined by the laptop's own PWM control, so the limit is the maximum airflow this specific model can move through the A517-58M, A515-58M or A514-56M heatsink.

How much extra noise and heat does the fan add when the laptop runs all day?

The replacement fan matches the original acoustic profile for the Aspire 5 514, 515 and 517 series; it adds no additional heat beyond the motor's normal operating warmth.
