Replacement fan for Gateway EC5409U and EC5412U

This DBTLAP cooling fan replaces the original CPU cooler in Gateway EC5409U and EC5412U laptops. It matches the DFB451005M10T part number and runs on 5 V at 0.4 A. The unit is supplied new and tested before shipping.

Thermals noise and power draw

The fan draws 0.4 A at 5 V, keeping power consumption low during normal operation. It is designed to maintain CPU temperatures within the laptop’s original thermal envelope. Noise levels correspond to the factory specification for this part number.

Upgrades from a worn or failed original cooler

This part directly replaces a noisy, slow or non‑spinning stock fan in the listed Gateway models. The upgrade is worth it when the original cooler no longer maintains safe temperatures or produces audible bearing noise. Buyers needing a different form factor or higher airflow for other laptop models should look elsewhere.

Questions about this item

How do I install the DBTLAP cooling fan in my Gateway EC5409U, and what step is often missed?

Remove the old fan, align the 5V 0.4A connector, and secure the screws; the step often missed is verifying the DFB451005M10T part number matches the original before fitting.

What maintenance will this cooling fan need over time?

Clean dust from the blades and vents every few months using compressed air; the fan is a sealed 5V 0.4A unit with no lubrication points, so replacement is needed if noise or vibration develops.

What limit appears first when the fan runs continuously under heavy load?

The 5V 0.4A power rating sets the thermal ceiling; sustained maximum RPM can only be maintained while the laptop's header supplies stable voltage within that spec.
