Replacement fan for Sony Vaio FW series

This new DBTLAP cooling fan replaces the original CPU cooler assembly in Sony Vaio VGN-FW21E and VGN-FW31E laptops. It is intended for owners of those specific models who need to restore factory cooling performance. Buyers with different Vaio series or other brands cannot use this part.

Package contents and verification steps

The box contains one fan unit only. No thermal paste, mounting screws or tools are supplied. The supplier advises comparing the photos with the existing cooler and confirming the part numbers A1563093A or 073-001-6153 before ordering.

Installation notes and common issues

Fitting requires opening the laptop chassis and disconnecting the old cooler, so basic disassembly skill is needed. The most frequent problem is ordering a fan that looks similar but has a different connector or screw layout, which makes it incompatible despite the model match.

Questions about this item

Will the fan assembly with part number A1563093A need lubrication or bearing replacement over time?

The fan is a sealed unit; no user-serviceable bearings or lubrication points are present, so replacement of the whole assembly is the only maintenance path.

What thermal limit stops the fan from cooling a Sony Vaio VGN-FW21E under continuous load?

The fan’s maximum airflow and fixed speed set the cooling ceiling; once the CPU heat output exceeds that airflow capacity, temperatures will rise despite the fan running.

How much noise and heat does the replacement fan produce when the laptop runs all day?

The fan operates at a constant low speed typical for these Vaio models, so acoustic output stays modest and the motor adds negligible extra heat to the chassis.
