Replacement CPU Fan for HP Pavilion DV7

This new DBTLAP cooling fan operates at 5V and 0.4A and carries part number 480481-001. It is designed as a direct replacement for the original CPU cooler in compatible HP Pavilion DV7 laptops. The package includes one fan unit ready for installation.

For owners of specific DV7 models needing a fan

This part suits users repairing an HP Pavilion DV7-1131EG, DV7-1220EL, DV7-1240EO or DV7-1001EA where the original cooler has failed. It is not for buyers who need a cooling pad that sits under the laptop, nor for anyone whose DV7 variant uses a different part number or connector layout.

Verify the 480481-001 part number before ordering

The single specification that decides fitment is the manufacturer part number 480481-001 printed on your existing fan. Match this number exactly to the one listed for the replacement to ensure the connector, mounting holes and voltage rating are correct for your DV7-2000 series notebook.

Questions about this item

Does the package include mounting hardware or thermal paste, or just the fan itself?

The box contains one fan only; screws, brackets and thermal compound are not included and must be sourced separately.

My laptop is an HP Pavilion DV7-2000 — does the 480481-001 part number match that model?

Yes, the supplier lists DV7-2000 alongside DV7-1131EG, DV7-1220EL, DV7-1240EO and DV7-1001EA as compatible models for this 480481-001 fan.

What does the 5 V 0.4 A rating mean for everyday cooling performance?

It draws 0.4 A at 5 V, so the motherboard header supplies about 2 W to spin the fan; actual temperature drop depends on the laptop’s heatsink and workload.
