Direct replacement for ThinkPad R60 series

This new laptop CPU fan fits the ThinkPad R60, R60E and R60I models. It is a direct replacement cooler designed to restore original airflow. Each unit is tested before shipping to confirm it spins correctly. Buyers should compare the product images with their existing fan to verify the connector and mounting match.

Capacity and headroom for legacy cooling

The cooler handles the thermal load of the original processor in these legacy systems. It provides sufficient airflow for typical office tasks and light workloads. The fan will run out of capacity under sustained heavy compute loads that exceed the original design envelope. It is not suited for upgraded processors or modified thermal configurations.

Thermals noise and power in normal use

In normal use the fan maintains the temperatures expected for the R60 platform. Acoustic output matches the original component profile for this laptop series. Power draw is consistent with the factory specification for the internal fan header. The package includes one fan unit without additional mounting hardware or cables.

Questions about this item

Will this CPU fan fit alongside the original heatsink in my ThinkPad R60?

The fan is built for the R60 R60E R60I series and matches the original mounting points, so it sits on the existing heatsink without modification.

How can I verify the fan is spinning correctly after I install it?

Power on the laptop and listen for steady airflow from the side vent; the BIOS hardware monitor will also show a stable RPM reading once the system posts.

Does the package include thermal paste or mounting screws, or do I need to buy them separately?

The box contains only the fan unit; thermal compound and any replacement screws must be sourced separately.
