Direct Replacement Fan

This cooling fan is a direct replacement for the Dell XPS 16 9640 laptop. It matches part numbers F966V, NS75C41-23D01, 023.100VQ.0001, 8GVMH, NS75C42-23D02 and 023.100VR.0001. Buyers who need a new CPU and GPU cooler for this specific model should verify the photos against their original part before ordering.

5V 0.6A Thermal Headroom

The fan operates at 5V and draws 0.6A, delivering the airflow Dell specified for the XPS 16 9640 thermal solution. It handles the combined CPU and GPU heat load under normal workloads. Sustained maximum turbo loads on both chips simultaneously may exceed the single-fan capacity, leading to throttling.

Upgrade From Failed Original

This part replaces a worn, noisy or failed factory fan in the XPS 16 9640. The jump is worth it when the original cooler spins loudly, rattles or no longer keeps temperatures in check. It is not for users wanting extra cooling performance beyond the stock design or for any other laptop model.

Questions about this item

Will this fan fit the heatsink assembly already inside my Dell XPS 16 9640?

The fan carries part numbers NS75C41-23D01 and NS75C42-23D02 that match the original XPS 16 9640 cooling module, so it aligns with the existing screw holes and thermal pads.

How can I confirm the replacement is spinning at the correct speed after installation?

The unit is rated 5 V 0.6 A; in the BIOS fan‑speed readout you should see a stable RPM curve that ramps with CPU load and no error alert at boot.

Does the package include thermal paste or mounting screws, or must I supply them?

Only the cooling fan itself is listed in the box contents; thermal compound and any retaining screws are not included and must be sourced separately.
