Video Capture Device for SDI Workflows
The Decimator Design Version 2 converts professional SDI signals to HDMI and composite outputs simultaneously. It suits broadcasters and AV integrators who need to monitor or record 3G, HD or SD sources on consumer displays. The unit auto-detects 26 video formats and maintains a full 10-bit data path throughout.
SDI Cable Limits and Format Constraints
Maximum equalised cable reach is 400M for SD-SDI, 200M for HD-SDI and 100M for 3G-SDI when using Belden 1694A cable. The scaler handles down-conversion with aspect ratio conversion but cannot up-convert SD to HD. Buyers needing 4K throughput or HDMI input must look elsewhere.
Compact Metal Enclosure with Locking Power
The chassis measures 90 x 71 x 23mm and includes a mounting bracket for fixed installs. A locking DC jack accepts 5V to 24V at 5W, preventing accidental disconnects. Front-panel LEDs show power and signal lock status while DIP switches set NTSC/PAL, aspect ratio and audio routing without software.

How far can I run 3G-SDI cable before the signal degrades?
