Pocket-Sized Bluetooth Card Reader

The Deftun MiniDX5 is a compact magnetic stripe reader that connects wirelessly to Windows, Mac, iOS and Android devices. It fits in a pocket and is aimed at mobile merchants, field technicians and anyone who needs to capture card data away from a fixed terminal.

Bluetooth Range and Storage Limits

Wireless operation depends on standard Bluetooth proximity, so the reader must stay close to the host device during use. Internal memory holds roughly 8000 swipes before data must be offloaded, and the battery works between 0 and 55 degrees Celsius with humidity up to 90 percent.

Simple Pairing and Common Pitfalls

Pairing is done through the EasyMSR app downloaded from the relevant store, and a USB cable provides an alternative wired link. The 250 mAh cell recharges over USB, but the reader will not function if the battery is fully depleted or if the app version is incompatible with the host operating system.
