Compact USB4 CFexpress Type-B Reader
The Delkin Devices USB4 CFexpress Type-B Card Reader is built for photographers and videographers who offload high-resolution RAW images and 8K video in the field. Its USB4 Type-C interface reaches 40 Gbps so large files move to a laptop or workstation without a bottleneck. The anodised aluminium body with integrated heat sinks keeps the reader cool during sustained transfers. It accepts one CFexpress Type-B card and nothing else.
Plug-and-play with a single slot
Connect the reader to any USB4 or Thunderbolt 4 port on Windows or macOS and it appears instantly — no driver installation required. The rubberised end cover protects the card slot and the card itself when the reader is stowed in a bag. The only common issue is attempting to insert CFexpress Type A, XQD, CFast 2.0 or CompactFlash cards; they are physically incompatible and will not work.
USB4 40 Gbps decides the workflow speed
The 40 Gbps USB4 link is the specification that determines whether this reader matches your pipeline. If your computer only offers USB 3.2 the transfer rate will be limited to that slower standard. Buyers who need to ingest multiple card formats or who rely on legacy USB-A ports should look elsewhere.

Questions about this item
How can I confirm the reader is transferring at 40 Gbps after I connect it?
Connect the reader to a USB4 or Thunderbolt 4 port, insert a CFexpress Type-B card, and watch for sustained transfer rates approaching the rated 40 Gbps during large file offloads.
What comes in the box and do I need a separate cable or card?
The reader itself is supplied; you must provide your own CFexpress Type-B memory card and a USB4 or Thunderbolt 4 Type-C cable if one is not already available.
Should I choose this model or a different capacity for 8K video workflows?
This reader has no internal capacity; it accepts one CFexpress Type-B card at a time, so select a card size that matches your 8K project storage needs.
