Product identity and purpose

This 1.2TB SAS hard drive spins at 10K RPM and uses a 12Gb/s interface in a 2.5-inch form factor. It is built for Dell PowerEdge servers that require fast, reliable nearline storage. The included compatible caddy ensures direct fit in listed chassis without extra parts.

Who this suits and who it does not

Administrators upgrading R210 through R930 generation servers will find native compatibility and the supplied tray. Buyers needing larger capacity, solid-state speed, or a 3.5-inch form factor should consider other drive types. Systems without a SAS backplane or controller cannot use this drive.

Deciding specification

The 12Gb/s SAS interface and 10K rotational speed determine whether this drive matches your controller and performance requirements. Verify that your server backplane supports 12G SAS before purchase.
