1.2TB SAS 2.5" 10K 6G internal hard drive with compatible caddy for Dell PowerEdge servers

  • 2 TB capacity stores large datasets on a single drive
  • 10 K RPM spindle delivers fast sequential and random access
  • SAS 6 Gbit/s interface provides reliable enterprise connectivity
  • 5 inch form factor fits dense server chassis
  • Supplied caddy fits Dell PowerEdge R210 through R930 families

1.2 TB SAS enterprise drive

This 1.2 TB SAS drive spins at 10 K rpm and connects over a 6 G interface. It fits a 2.5 inch bay and ships with a compatible Dell caddy for direct installation in supported PowerEdge servers. The unit is new and carries a one-year warranty.

Upgrade from slower or smaller SAS disks

The drive replaces lower-capacity or lower-speed SAS drives in compatible Dell PowerEdge models ranging from the R210 through the R930 series. The jump is worthwhile when a workload needs more space and faster rotational speed without changing the storage architecture or controller.

Sustained throughput in multi-drive arrays

Under continuous read and write loads the 10 K rpm spindle maintains consistent data rates across the full 1.2 TB capacity. The SAS interface handles concurrent commands efficiently, making the drive suitable for database volumes, virtualisation storage and other steady-state enterprise workloads.

Questions about this item

Will the 2.5 inch SAS drive fit directly into a Dell PowerEdge R720 bay?

The drive ships with a compatible Dell caddy that fits the R720 and the other listed PowerEdge models, so it mounts without an extra bracket.

What is the correct way to seat the drive and caddy in the server chassis?

Slide the caddy into the hot-swap bay until the latch clicks; the common mistake is stopping short of the click, which leaves the SAS connector unseated.

When should the 1.2TB 10K SAS drive be replaced in a RAID array?

Replace it when the RAID controller reports predictive-failure SMART alerts or when the drive exceeds the vendor-rated workload limit for 10K SAS media.
