Dual 25Gb SFP28 rNDC for PowerEdge

This network daughter card adds two 25Gb SFP28 ports to compatible Dell PowerEdge servers. It is built around the Broadcom 57414 controller and targets administrators who need high-speed Ethernet connectivity in a rack-mount chassis. The card fits the rNDC slot and ships with firmware already updated.

Verify rNDC slot and SFP28 optics

Confirm that your server model includes an available rNDC bay and that the chassis airflow meets the card's thermal requirements. You must also source 25Gb SFP28 transceivers and matching fibre or direct-attach cables, as none are included with the card.

Sustained 25Gb throughput per port

Under continuous load the Broadcom 57414 maintains line-rate performance across both ports without throttling. The dual-port design balances traffic for virtualisation clusters and storage replication workloads that run for hours rather than minutes.

Questions about this item

What comes in the box and do I need to buy SFP28 modules separately?

The listing includes the 10HV7 Broadcom 57414 rNDC card only. SFP28 transceivers and cables are not included and must be purchased separately.

Which Dell PowerEdge servers is the 540-BBUS model compatible with?

The 540-BBUS is validated for PowerEdge R640, R740, R740XD, R7425, R840, R940 and R940XA servers.

What does the dual 25 Gb SFP28 rating mean for throughput in a R740?

Each port delivers 25 Gb/s line rate, so the adapter provides two independent 25 Gb/s channels in a R740.
