Dell Inspiron Touch 15.6-inch laptop

The Dell Inspiron Touch is a 15.6-inch Full HD touchscreen laptop powered by a 13th Gen Intel Core i7-1355U processor. It comes with 16GB DDR5 memory and a 512GB NVME SSD running Windows 11 Pro. This configuration suits professionals and students who need responsive multitasking and direct screen interaction in a standard clamshell design.

Thermals noise and 45W power supply

The system ships with a 45W power supply and a three-cell battery. Integrated Intel graphics and the efficient U-series processor keep heat output modest during typical office tasks, web browsing and video playback. Fan activity remains low in quiet environments, and the chassis stays comfortable to the touch during normal daily use.

Sustained load behaviour

Under prolonged workloads such as large spreadsheet calculations or extended video calls, the processor maintains steady performance within its thermal envelope. The compact 14.15 x 9.25 x 0.90 inch chassis limits cooling capacity, so very heavy multi-core tasks may see gradual frequency adjustment. The 16GB DDR5 and fast NVME storage ensure consistent responsiveness for business applications.

Questions about this item

How do I install a fresh copy of Windows 11 Pro on the 512GB NVME drive and what step do people miss?

Boot from a USB installer, select the 512GB NVME as the target, and remember to load the Intel Rapid Storage Technology driver or the drive will not appear during setup.

Which component will need replacement first and how do I maintain the 16GB DDR5 memory?

The 45W power supply and 3-cell battery degrade before the soldered 16GB DDR5; keep the battery between 20% and 80% charge and use the original 45W adapter to extend its life.

What thermal limit appears first when the Intel Core i7-1355U runs sustained workloads?

The 15W base power envelope of the i7-1355U is reached quickly in the thin chassis, so the CPU throttles clock speeds to stay within its thermal design power.
